The Parkhotel Kurhaus was built in 1913 by the well-known architect Prof. Emanuel von Seidl. During World War I, the hotel hosted the German military headquarters and it was the military seat of the last Kaiser Wilhelm II. At the same time, General von Hindenburg and Erich Ludendorff (the Quartermaster General of the German general staff) were also in Bad Kreuznach.
During the Kaiser´s time at the Kurhaus, from 1916 to 1918, important heads of state were here, like Zar Ferdinand of Bulgaria, and General Mustafa Kemal Pascha who was later known as Atatürk. In World War II the hotel was occupied alternately by French and American troops. On 27th March 1955 the Americans released the Kurhaus. Exactly one year later, in 1956, the hotel was reconditioned and reopened.
In November 1958 French President Charles de Gaulle and Germany’ s Chancellor Konrad Adenauer met here to negotiate the French-German friendship pact.
In the following years, many higher political consultations between these countries were held in the hotel, keeping not only the hospitality tradition alive but also confirming Parkhotel Kurhaus as the ideal venue for historical events.
The hotel offers 116 rooms – mostly with balcony, 11 meeting rooms including „Kursaal“ with a capacity of 650 pax, a Park restaurant including a summer terrace, and a bar. The thermal bath „crucenia“ is connected directly to the property.
In 2011 the hotel was taken over by an Estonian Real Estate Group and has been operating under it´s management till today.
